I must say that there's no better way plump ladies to encourage people to exercise than by making them look like ignorant slobs. This is an actual billboard the state of West Virginia is using in order to curb fat. Take a good look at that "before" picture. Not only is the woman's hair in curlers (signifying an old-fashioned feel,) her face is in a bright green mask, she's wearing something with the shape and fit of a tablecloth, and of course there's the giant bag of chips right in front of her stomach. Plus, don't forget the soda - soda kills! And the "after" picture? Idyllic: a beautiful, outdoor environment. Well-fitted sweatsuit. Looks happy. I don't think the way to help people exercise is to insult them. Call me crazy, here, but who's going to respond to this billboard in a positive fashion? |
