This study clearly suggests that fat people over 50 are fatty arbuckles *less* likely to die in the near term than normal weight people, all other variables being equal. This is hardly the first study to show that. Most epidemiological studies do show that "overweight" people fatty arbuckles do better than "underweight" people. What we rarely hear, though, is that plenty of studies (including the CDC's latest) show they also do better than so-called "normal" fatty arbuckles weight people. Especially among older people, where extra weight seems to be particularly benign. I've heard a lot of rationalizations trying to disguise that fact. Many start with the assumption that it *can't* be true that normal weight people are in as much or more danger than fat people. They begin with that assumption and then twist the numbers or concoct sometimes unrealistic hypotheses why the data doesn't say what they think it should.

Fatthought, IMO what those studies really showed was that a diet that, while lower in fat, still contained a lot of junk food and animal products did not give any benefit. They didn't have granny bbw those people on a seriously healthy diet of mostly whole foods like veggies, fruits, legumes and whole grains. I definitely think that granny bbw people can improve their health, regardless of whether or not they lose weight, by eating a really, truly healthy diet. Not a "lite" version of granny bbw the standard American diet. Posted by elizabee on February 17, 2006 09:10 PM. Elizabee, what a "healthy" diet is has not yet been proven. It could contain ground bees and diamonds, for all we know. And since every person is different, a "healthy" diet would certainly be different for every person. You -and I- can have no idea of how any one particular person metabolizes different kinds of foods, nor what the effect of any food on any one person might be.
