Having never visited the US, I can't really comment on how fat-phobic the UK is comparitively. It would seem logical that since we are told that there are more fat people in the US then by virtue of the effect of normalisation fat phobia is probably less there. My boyfriend, who is of Irish desent went to Ireland over the summer and loved it. I wonder if that is where he gets his preference for Rubenesque women. Fair or not, I am becomming outraged at the British myself. I am Polish, Scotch-Irish, Cherokee and Welch. I have a bit of Brit too but I am going to drop it from my list in protest. To get back on topic, I read on another site that the Blair government tried to cover up a top scientists opinion on global warming. |
