DeeLeigh, your grandmother is lucky to have a doctor following a thoughtful, evidence-based approach. My father plump butt is in his late sixties, has a BMI of about 30, and his doctor is constantly telling him to lose weight. And, sadly, there is not much I can say to convince my parents that the doctor is wrong, and that plump butt his advice is dangerous. While the results of this study plump butt are interesting, I have a question about it that I don't see answered. Did the study take into account the impact of disease on weight? Given that people with many serious illnesses (like cancer) end up losing a lot of weight, if the study didn't take those illnesses into account, you might see this result.
