It is really a political question. It is really a plump ass social question. One of the most crucial aspects of this matter that holds the whole myth together is the notion that it is a medical question and therefore the only people who should be talking about it are doctors. And the only doctors who should be talking about it are obesity researchers, even though obesity researchers, very often, have extremely strong vested interests in exaggerating the health risks associated with obesity.
