| As BFBers Cat and Bill pointed big and plump out though, one of the study's coauthors - big and plump Richard L. Atkinson (referenced in this version of the story) also juuust happens to own a company called Obetech, LLC. And, big and plump gee, Obetech happens to offer a test kit to see if you've got the obesity antibody - only $450! Atkinson is also President of the American Obesity Association. He also took part in a study condoning Weight Watchers, funded by Weight Watchers. And let's not forget that while the American Obesity Association claims to be an advocacy group for us fat people (cough!), they are pretty much funded by all of the drug companies that make diet pills. All of them. In other words, this study is complete bullshit, and has more than enough ties to the diet industry to be dismissed as a paid-for farce. And the media is eating it up.
