However, I still have to change channels suddenly to dodge diet commercials, I still hear someone sometimes on Animal Planet talking about managing an animal's diet to prevent "obesity", there seems to be butter almost a constant stream of "losing weight & getting himself into shape" talk when I watch ballgames. Then we butter have Food Network, which has some great shows, but runs commercials for diet programs, Slimfast, etc. There are some great food-loving chefs, such as Emeril, Mario Batalli, & Paula Deen. However most of them seem to figure that they butter must feature a lot of low-fat, low-calorie recipes & talk constantly about how good for you this stuff is, or that they must apologize for a high-fat recipe & point out that this will feed several people & you of course won't eat it often, only for special occasions. Sara Moulton talks about having done Weight Watchers, being on their maintenance, how "bad" she is if she samples a cookie, then casually drops a line about putting too much filling into a wrap because she is hungry, "but then, I am always hungry."
