There have been ads running on the radio here lately (ads for a local dentist, but I'd heard about fat woman sex net the study before) about periodontal disease being linked to heart attacks-- which sounds just as goofy as this does. So periodontal disease causes fat people to be more fat, and being fat gives you heart attacks, and so does gum disease, which also makes you fat.... it's one big circle o' blame! Heard about this one and it strikes me as just slightly less insane than that one about the "obesity virus" which got so much press coverage in-spite of the fact that it was only based on a study of some supposedly fat birds.
