Posted by BLR on February 22, 2006 08:00 AM. I was watching Starting Over, a daytime soap/reality TV show, love fat girls and one of the women on it has had gastric bypass. They had her go talk to a dietician who specializes in this area, and she mentioned that the average gastric bypass patient gains back 50% of the weight they lose after surgery in love fat girls the longer term. So not love fat girls only is it risky and expensive, but for a lot of folks it isn't even a long-term solution. Yikes. Posted by actboldly on February 22, 2006 08:50 AM. Reading the article, apparently gastric bypass was already covered. They've just broadened coverage to include lap band surgery and other "options." I generally think WLS is nuts, but lap band surgery is apparently less risky than gastric bypass, so maybe this new news isn't as bad as it seems at first glance.
