Yes, it is very easy to be overweight in our society; however, given all the clear-cut facts regarding nutrition as it relates to simple biology (calories expended always need to balance calories ingested), like fatty sparing it or not, at the end of the day it comes fatty sparing down to one’s personal choice. (However, I want to make it clear that I do not believe – in any way – that struggling with being overweight/obese is any kind of “personal moral failure”.) While those choices may be influenced and motivated by numerous factors (including one’s psyche), the fact remains that at any time, we have an opportunity to make a choice for healthier living that will only serve to enhance our life in so many ways.

She really wants to talk about the bias against the overweight, but the approach she uses --saying the many health warnings are overstated -- is way off base. There's simply too much illness attributable to obesity to pretend it isn't true.
