Fat people, regardless of their health problems, are clearly one of the only advice groups left in our society that are fair game for anyone to insult, anyone to degrade, anyone to make fun of, even supposedly "liberal/progressive" people who are "above" that. The comments here are not the comments of people concerned about a advice potential health crisis. They are the comments of people who are excited to have a group to insult freely. Comments like "fat phuckers," comparing advice people to bowling balls, someone even called overweight people "monsters." These are human beings. Just like the Muslims and other marginalized social groups people on this site are always sticking up for. And yes, overweight people ARE marginalized socially in many ways, ask any overweight person. They deserve the dignity accorded to any human being. Some of you are pathetic, on top of being hypocrites. |
