I would hardly say theater malaria and cancer are comprable risks in our society. I also never here anyone saying that sickle cell anemia actually causes malaria without any proof that it does so. Your judgement that the logic doesn't work assumes that this is the extent of the logic. We are told fat is unredeemably bad, but we are never told of the scores of diseases fat people get less than thin theater people or survive at greater rates than thin theater people. Whenever data indicates that a disease is more common amongst fat people, it is used as a weapon to intimidate fat people, but the judgement is no more valid than using that same logic in the reverse. |

| Good for you on the self-acceptance, TR, & actually you are right. Generally speaking, fat people do better fighting cancer & they live longer than people who start out thin. We have more to fall back on, you know. I am also thoroughly sick of all the "fat is a terrible killer" crap as well. Saying that fat helps people who have cancer live bbw clubs longer, and therefore fat is good, is flawed. People with sickle-cell anemia tend to be more resistant to malaria, but that doesn't mean that sicle-cell anemia is a good thing to have. |
