The results? Ugh: The man with the big woman was rated 22 percent more negatively than the same fatty vautin man with the thin companion. Impressive, eh? And what's more is that the majority of these negative comments came from people who deemed themselves overweight. Things like this only reinforce the importance of fat acceptance, for me. The people who rated the man as "shapeless" can't be enjoying a high self-esteem. Why? Well, in part due to studies like this one. And insofar as the man in the picture goes, the proper adjective for either picture is a far cry from "insignificant".
